Have you already thought about what type of RC boat you want to buy? The speed demons among us usually prefer a speedboat, swamp boat, catamaran, hovercraft or jet ski. If you prefer to take it a little easier, you can choose a sailboat, ship or tugboat. We also carry a number of amphibious vehicles, which can move on land as well as in water.
Unless you want to buy a motorless RC sailboat, it is important to think about the type of motor. Our RC boats are available with three different types of electric motors:
The type of motor determines the maximum speed of an RC boat. The maximum speed of a radio controlled boat with brushed motor is usually between 20 and 30 kilometers per hour. As we mentioned earlier, RC boats with brushless motors are faster; depending on the model, speeds up to 80 kilometers per hour can be achieved!
Most RC boats in our range are Ready to Run (RTR) or Ready to Float (RTF). That means they come with everything you need to get on the water and are ready to use almost immediately. Some models are Almost Ready to Run (ARTR); these RC boats are also already assembled, but come without the electronics. RC kits where you still have to build the boat all by yourself are quite rare and really only suitable for the experienced hobbyists.
Many RC boats come with various accessories. But you can also order parts and accessories for your RC boat separately. Besides motors, controllers and universal joints for boats, we also supply various boat parts by brand. View our full range on parts and accessories and boat by brand.
For beginners, we recommend easy to control and robust models such as ProBoat and Traxxas boats. These models offer stability and user-friendly controls, making them ideal for newcomers.
Advanced models such as the Traxxas Spartan and Traxxas DCB M41 are suitable, offering more challenge and advanced features such as higher speeds and better control.
You are not allowed to launch your radio controlled boat just anywhere. For example, sailing in protected natural areas is prohibited. Fortunately, there are plenty of lakes, ponds and water sports areas where you may sail.
When buying an RC boat, it is essential to pay attention to the difficulty of operation, the availability of spare parts, and compatibility with your existing RC equipment. The quality of construction and reputation of the manufacturer are also important factors. For beginners, we recommend starting with a model that is easy to operate and resistant to crashes. Advanced captains can opt for models with more advanced features and better performance. Make sure you also consider the cost of maintenance and possible upgrades.
Maintaining an RC boat is crucial for long life and optimal performance. Make sure you regularly perform the following tasks:

The range of an RC boat depends on the transmitter and receiver used. On average, most RC boats have a range of about 100 to 200 meters, but this can vary depending on the environmental conditions and the equipment used.
