Our range of Latrax RC cars

At TopRC you will find a wide range of Latrax RC cars. The Latrax Teton is a versatile model that performs well on both off road and on road terrain. With its robust construction, it is ideal for challenging conditions. The Latrax Rally, with its low profile and maneuverability, is perfect for speed enthusiasts who enjoy driving on paved surfaces. Both models are fully RTR (Ready To Run), meaning they are ready to use right out of the box. This makes them accessible to everyone, regardless of their experience level.

The different types of Latrax RC cars

Latrax offers several models that cater to various driving styles. The Latrax Teton, with its strong body and powerful engine, is ideal for off-road adventures. For those who prefer riding on paved roads, the Latrax Rally is an excellent choice because of its speed and maneuverability. These models are not only versatile, but also very reliable, making them a popular choice among RC enthusiasts.

Specifications of the LaTrax Teton

The Teton comes with a 2.4 GHz transmitter system and a receiver that’s already installed in the car. The electronics, including the ESC, are factory-tuned for the 370 motor, so you don’t need to adjust anything before you start driving.

Why this model is such a great choice for beginners

The Teton is popular with beginners and young hobbyists, and there are good reasons for that. The most important one is the training mode: with the push of a button, you can cut the power in half, so a child or a new driver can practice without the car taking off right away. Once they’ve got the hang of steering, you can switch it to full power.

The build quality also helps. The chassis is sturdy, and the drive system uses metal gears instead of plastic ones, which noticeably increases durability. The oil-filled shock absorbers cushion the impact of a landing, and the 4WD system provides traction on loose sand and grass. Combined with the high ground clearance, this gives the vehicle excellent off-road capabilities for such a small car.

The Teton is also suitable for all weather conditions. A wet sidewalk or a puddle is no problem; just be sure to clean the car afterward and dry it thoroughly.

Where do you drive it?

It’s precisely the maneuverability that makes this type of car so much fun. In a small space like a driveway or a courtyard, you can already run a course with a 1/18 scale model where a 1/10 scale car wouldn’t have enough room. That’s why this truck is also often used indoors, although a smooth floor can be slippery.

If you want something bigger or faster, check out the Traxxas Stampede in 1/10 scale or our selection of RC trucks. If you’re looking for climbing power instead of speed, an RC crawler is a better choice. LaTrax also offers more models in the same scale, such as a rally car and a short-course truck—all with the same simple controls.

Battery, Run Time, and Upgrades

Most versions of the Teton come with a battery and charger included; always check the product page to be sure. Expect 20 to 30 minutes of driving time per charge. If you want to drive longer, a second battery pack is the first upgrade you should consider—a 7.4V LiPo with, for example, 3000 mAh capacity will fit and immediately provide more power. Check out our selection of batteries and chargers and choose a suitable LiPo charger. Always charge under supervision.

Other popular accessories include a spare body, a set of body clips (sold in packs of 12), and extra tires and wheels. The same applies here: spare parts support for the Teton is excellent, and that’s exactly what you want for a model you’ll be learning a lot with—and therefore also crashing a lot with.

Parts and maintenance

If something breaks, there’s almost always a replacement part available: chassis parts, suspension arms, drive shafts, gears, and complete shock absorber sets. You’ll find these products under “Parts and Accessories,” sorted by model, so you can be sure they’ll fit.

Maintenance is minimal: just give it a quick clean after a drive, check the wheel nuts and shock absorber screws, and see if there’s any play in the drivetrain. That’s all it takes. If you’re still having trouble, our repair service is here to help, and you can read about what’s covered under the warranty on the warranty page.
