Building model boats is a great hobby where the building itself gives a lot of pleasure and satisfaction, and the result is worth showing. TopRC offers plenty of choice for those looking for a boat building kit. All categories are widely represented in our assortment. Take a look at our current offer at your leisure and get inspired by the possibilities!
Which model boat building kits are available?
Most of our assortment of model boat kits consists of Revell kits. But you can also contact us for a model boat kit of for example Trumpeter, Sluban or Heller. You can choose from different types of vessels, civil, commercial and military, historical and modern, available in different scales. For example, we have many scale models of military vessels. These include aircraft carriers from the US Navy, German submarines from World War II and the revolutionary British battleship the HMS Dreadnought. There are also some other famous historical vessels among them, such as the Santa Maria (Columbus' flagship) and the legendary Titanic. And that's just the tip of the iceberg! From pirate ships to Viking boats and from traditional tugs to state-of-the-art cruise ships, we have it all. Lovers of nautical modeling can therefore indulge themselves!

What should I pay attention to when buying a boat kit?
As with car kits and airplane kits there are a number of things to consider when buying a model boat kit. The questions below will help you make an informed choice:
- What's in the kit?
Always check before buying what exactly is in the kit. Many kits include everything you need to build and finish a complete boat, but sometimes you have to buy glue or paint separately. Of course, you can simply order parts and accessories and other supplies for kit boats through TopRC. - Do you have any preferences regarding the scale?
Are you planning to build several model boats, or do you already have several? Then it's nice if the proportions are correct. Therefore, look carefully at the scale when buying a ship or boat kit. With model boats ranging from 1 in 35 to 1 in 2000, there is quite a difference! - What level/age are you looking for?
For younger model builders and beginners a simple wooden boat kit or an Easy-Click kit is very suitable; no glue is needed to assemble these model boats. If you have more experience or are looking for a fun challenge, you can choose one of the model boat building kits with many parts that need to be glued. The price of a model boat is often also already a nice indication of the degree of difficulty; you can assume that model boat building kits with a price tag of over €100 are not suitable for younger children.
